Club History
The Webster Soccer Association was incorporated in 1976 as a not-for-profit entity. From inception, the purpose of the association has been to provide a positive soccer experience through training and competition for the youth in our community.

A Board of Directors, governs the association. Rules or by-laws are updated as necessary and guide the board in making their decisions. Positions are divided between board members and include President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Other board members and sub-committees divide other association responsibilities.

The club offers soccer programs for all ages and all skill levels. Future Super Stars is a developmental program designed for our youngest members (ages 2-5). Micro Soccer teaches crucial soccer skills to our K-2nd grade members while they play fun games. Our travel programs begin at age 7 with the Player Development Program. Most of our travel soccer teams participate in the Rochester District Youth Soccer League (ages U8-U19). For the elite player, our Dynamo Elite Soccer Academy is designed teach a player to play the game at its highest level. WSA’s World Cup soccer is a summer recreational program, offering fun games for those players who want an introduction to soccer and those who do not desire the travel soccer commitments. The club also offers indoor men’s and women’s adult leagues. Details about all of our programs are can be found on this website.

In 2001, WSA opened its indoor facility located at 865 Publishers Parkway. This training center has a 40 x 70 yard AstroPlay artificial surface, classroom, office, club store and storage space for the association. Also located the WSA soccer complex, are multiple soccer fields. Boulter Field is a full size lighted soccer field, which features bleachers, an irrigation/drainage system, press box, concession stand and restroom facilities.

A full time Executive Director oversees the daily operations of the association. Duties include indoor complex management and fields/building maintenance.

In the spring of 2003, the Basket Road outdoor soccer facility was put into use with multiple fields, rest rooms and storage facilities.

In 2004, a Director of Coaching was hired. The DOC is primarily responsible for managing player placement and to oversee training of our coaches. This is done through a series of clinics that cover tactics, techniques, field play and conditioning. We feel that the key to continuous improvement is evaluation and modification of our training model when necessary.  This year also saw the hiring of a goalkeeper coach, which offered a program for all age levels.

In 2005, the Webster Eagles joined the association along with the Webster Micro Soccer Program.  This move enabled WSA to offer programs from age 5 to 19.  A second Director of Coaching was hired to oversee the U5 thru U10 program.  While the existing Director of Coaching continues to work with the U11 thru U19 program.

In 2008, our programs expanded with the addition of Recreation Soccer and Future Super Stars. WSA World Cup Soccer is a summer recreational program (running generally June and July) and is designed for the player who wants to learn about soccer and possibly advance to the travel level and for the player who desires to play soccer without the travel time commitment. Our Recreation Program Director has designed World Cup Soccer to include basic skill training, plus two weekly games. The Future Super Stars attracts our youngest members, ages 2 through 5. This program is an introduction to soccer (plus other fun activities) in a fun, safe, and exciting way. The instructors have a strong background in soccer and youth development. Fun games are used to introduce basic skills and enhance a child’s social, physical, and mental development. Sessions are held indoors during fall, winter and spring and outdoors in the summer.

2009, saw the club elevate the travel program, with the addition of the Dynamo Elite Soccer Academy (DESA). DESA, a premier soccer program, is the next step for travel players who excel and have a strong commitment to the game, as well as parents that are equally committed. The goal of the Dynamo Elite Soccer Academy is to provide Upstate NY area youth with highest level training environment that will help them progress to their maximum soccer ability.

Each Father’s Day weekend, we sponsor the Webster Soccer Association Tournament. In 2010, the Lakefront Classic combined with Empire Cup to become the largest soccer tournament in Upstate New York. Featuring premier and all levels of travel soccer, the tournament will host approximately 300 teams from the East Coast and Canada. The travel teams will have divisions U8 - U19 for both girls and boys. The premier teams will have divisions U8 – U15 for both girls and boys. The tournament brings over 25,000 visitors to our community. To support a tournament of this size, all WSA members volunteer throughout the weekend to ensure our guests have the best soccer experience possible. We utilize our own WSA fields, as well as different sites in the Webster community with the generous cooperation of the Town of Webster and the Webster Central School District.
