Cortland, NY - This past weekend (June 3-5, 2011), our Dynamo Elite Soccer Academy Boys Under 12 team competed in the NYS West State Cup competition, which is part of U.S. Youth Soccer’s National Championship Series. In early matches, the team defeated premier teams from Buffalo and Rochester. In the lead going into the final day of competition, Dynamo tied Syracuse to capture the prestigious State Cup Championship. In the three state matches, the team scored six goals and allowed only one goal against, achieving two shutouts. As state champions, Dynamo ESA BU12 advances to U.S. Soccer’s Region One Finals in Lancaster, PA. The competition takes place at the end of the month (June 30 – July 4, 2011) featuring state champions from Virginia to Maine.
Coached by Malcolm Kersey and Jon Bay the team consists of fourteen members with the majority of the players coming through Webster Soccer Association’s Micro Soccer and Player Development Programs. The team also has players from Hilton, Greece, Fairport and Pittsford.
This is a great group of dedicated, hard working young players that have been training three days a week since November. They bonded together from the start, and have supported each other and are having a great deal of fun. They deserve everything they have achieved” states Coach Malcolm Kersey.
