Dynamo GU17 Win PA Classics College Showcase!!!

The Dynamo U17 Girls travelled to Lancaster, Pennsylvania the weekend of December 8th, 2012 and won their flight in the PA Classics College Showcase tournament. Dynamo defeated Southampton SA (PA East) 1-0, drew with Capital Area CASA-CAPA (PA East) 1-1, and defeated Hotspurs Soccer (PA West) 1-0 to finish atop the flight with 7 points. The early season result was particularly impressive considering the opponents had all competed in Fall tournaments, and had been training together since September. Additionally, the GU17’s needed to overcome a late start to their indoor training (six of the players could not join team practices until mid-November when the high school state tournament concluded), which forced the 17 players from seven different area high schools (including four new players) to reacclimatize quickly. Despite the challenges, the GU17’s found their usual possession rhythm by the middle of the first match and never looked back. The girls exhibited excellent goalkeeping, very solid defending, midfield play that dictated the pace of the games, and dangerous attacking.

Congratulations to the ladies and Coach Quinlan! If this first tournament is any indication, the 2012-2013 season promises to be very successful.

DESA BU17 wins their bracket in the MAPS/MSSL Winter College Showcase!

DESA BU17 wins their bracket in the MAPS/MSSL Winter College Showcase this past weekend in New Jersey. They defeated teams from Virginia, MAryland and NJ to win. (The tournament was at Fort Dix!)
