*KINDERGARTENERS: Must be age 5 by September 1st, 2008
SESSIONS DATES: Twelve sessions will be held starting the week of June 16th, excluding 4th of July week. The first two sessions will be practices conducted by the team coach. Games will start on the third session. The remaining dates will consist of 10 minutes of warm-ups, 10-35 minutes of training, and then recreational games (mini-games for grades K-3; two 25-minute halves for grades 4-6, 30-minutes halves for grades 7-8 grade; 35-minutes halves for 9-12).
SESSION TIMES: Each session will be held from 6:30pm – 8pm unless otherwise stated. It is highly encouraged that participants arrive 10-15 minutes early to legally park and then warm up at the designated field.
GAME CANCELLATION: All cancellations will be decided at game time. Players are expected to arrive at their field ready to play - any cancellation decisions (based weather and/or field conditions) will be made at at that time.
FEES: The registration fee for the WSA Recreational Soccer Program is $75/player if registration is complete by 5/1/2008. Starting 5/2/2008 the fee is $85/player. Payment may be made with credit card via www.webstersoccer.com under Recreational Soccer Program. Registration closes 5/10/2008.
GRADES KINDERGARTEN – FIFTH: The 5v5 / 7v7 / 9v9 team formation will offer players more touches on the ball which will encourage the players to stay engaged, develop skills, and have more fun.
GRADES SIXTH – TWELFTH: Games will be competitive and scores will be recorded.
REFEREES: Referees will be used in 9v9 and 11v11 games.
FIELDS: All fields will be maintained and lined.
UNIFORMS: All participants will receive a full uniform (one jersey, one pair of shorts, and one pair of socks) each year.
COACHES: All volunteer coaches will go through a pre-season training session and will be provided session plans from the WSA Director of Coaching. Each team will be assigned a Coach, Assistant Coach, and Team Manager.
TROPHIES: The participants in Kindergarten through fifth grade will receive a participation trophy. The participants in sixth through twelfth grades will receive a trophy if their team finishes top in their division.
COMMISSIONERS: At each location, a WSA Recreational Soccer Commissioner will be on site to offer assistance to the Coaches and Team Managers.
MEDICAL EMERGENCIES: If a WSA Recreational Soccer player needs assistance during the session beyond what a parent/guardian can offer, the parent/guardian should call 911 immediately.
OTHER: Additional year-round opportunities in the WSA Indoor soccer training facility are being planned for the future.
MISCELLANEOUS: WSA reminds participants to park legally at the assigned site. For example, it is not acceptable to park along Lake Road if you play at Webster Park.
TRAINING FOR RECREATIONAL COACHES: Two sessions will be held for volunteer Coaches and Assistant Coaches on 5/10/2008 and 5/17/2008. Details will be provided.
RECREATIONAL CAMPS: WSA will hold a skills camp for Recreational players in May-June for an additional fee. Details will be listed under www.webstersoccer.com / Training Camps/Leagues when available.
This is a tentative schedule and may be modified due to the number of participants that sign up for the program.
Final details will be confirmed in May. WSA is not responsible for cancellations due to Acts of God or circumstances beyond our control.
